An EdTech tool for every step of Gagné’s Nine Events of Instruction
I explored this concept by designing a B1 level English writing lesson from scratch, using Gagné’s model as my roadmap. I created a learning journey that guides students from a simple hook to a fully designed and published blog post.
For each step – from gaining attention to enhancing retention – I selected a specific free EdTech tool to support the learning goal. The outcome was a powerful reminder that when technology is aligned with a solid framework, it leads to meaningful and memorable learning experiences. ✨
I’ve shared the full process, including the tools and activities I used and the reasoning behind each choice, in a dedicated blog post:
Blending Gagné’s Model with EdTech in a Digital EFL Writing Lesson
Tools used:
Genially | LearningApps | Quizlet | Educaplay | Padlet | Canva
- The learning objective is for young adult learners to write a short, effective travel blog post using descriptive language.
- The design prioritises an interactive, collaborative, and learner-centred experience
- Although designed as an instructor-led lesson, it can be easily adapted into a self-paced format if needed.
- You’ll find links to all the activities so you can explore them.
